Our facilities
Auditorium
The Auditorium is a feature of the school. With seating capacity for over 1,000, it is an effective space for large-scale student productions, school presentations and assemblies. The facility includes state-of-the-art sound and lighting equipment, with two full time staff managing the busy Auditorium schedule.
Dove Theatre
An intimate venue with seating for approximately 200. The Dove Theatre is perfect for lectures, drama, dance and musical performances, as well as being an important teaching space. The Dove is part of the Arts Centre, connecting the Auditorium, music suites, tutorial rooms, drama and dance studios and foyer entrance.
Kristin School Chapel
The Kristin Chapel is a peaceful and sacred place that is open to the school community during the day for quiet reflection. It is a place for belonging, and an authentic space where the various backgrounds and beliefs of each one of us will be respected.
Science and Technology Centre
The combined Science and Technology Centre, with its innovative design, provides 16 teaching spaces and laboratories for all science and technology subjects. The teaching spaces are built around a central atrium that provides social spaces for students. The building also has extensive natural lighting as well as energy-efficient heating and cooling systems.
Library and Information Centre (LIC)
The LIC is an outstanding, award-winning complex in the heart of the Kristin campus. This multi-purpose facility is home to our state-of-the-art Library, our Information Services team, a Senior Study Centre, Senior School Administration, public gallery and conference facilities. The Senior Study Centre on the ground floor includes a study room as well as a senior common room with an external courtyard for Year 13 students.
Canon Creative Studio
The Canon Creative Studio is the hub of media production at Kristin. Features include a blackout studio with a nine metre wide green screen with ARRI lighting, a fleet of Apple M2 Macbooks and displays for editing on Adobe, and a suite of Canon Cameras and lenses including C70, C200 and EOS R with library tagged M50s and EOS 200Ds for student loan.
Sports facilities
Kristin offers a wide range of sporting opportunities thanks to our many state-of-the-art sporting facilities. These include the Hockey Turf, Rugby and Football pitches, Gymnasiums and Climbing Wall.
Sports Fields
Kristin's sports fields are maintained to the highest standard, regularly staying open for use throughout the winter when other fields are closed. Because of the high standard of our playing surfaces, Kristin regularly welcomes national and international teams to train onsite. Kristin has a rugby field, two cricket pitches and several football fields.
Tūrama
Meaning 'to stand up and shine', Tūrama is a multi-purpose indoor sports facility, which allows students to enjoy sporting activities no matter what the weather. Large enough to be set up for internationally sized netball, basketball or tennis courts.
Hockey turf
Our competition sized hockey turf is located at the rear of the Junior School. Fully equipped with stadium lighting this turf incorporates the latest technology; the surface is the best available and has been built to the International Hockey Federation (FIH) performance standards. The facility includes clubrooms and changing rooms.
Gymnasiums
Kristin has two purpose-built gymnasiums. The Roy Munn Gym is situated in the Junior School and the ‘Old Gym' is just inside Gate 1.
Climbing Wall
Another sporting feature at Kristin is our rock climbing wall, which is situated on the back wall of the Roy Munn Gym. The wall is used for Outdoor Education classes and is open to students to climb during lunchtimes.
Golf Driving Range
The Institute of Golf is our neighbour with its golf driving range - an all weather facility featuring 10 undercover bays. Kristin students have the opportunity to take advantage of some of the best golfing minds in the business.
