Mark Wilson
Executive Principal
Mark has an impressive and successful educational background, coming to Kristin in 2019 after ten years as Principal of Cashmere High School in Christchurch, Deputy Principal at Hamilton Boys' High School, Head of Faculty and Boarding at St Peter's School in Cambridge, Head of Department at St Paul's Collegiate (Hamilton) and earlier teaching at Hamilton Girls' High and Matamata College.
Mark was the recipient of the Woolf Fisher Fellowship in 2018, which enabled him to visit leading schools in Europe and North America and attend a leadership course at Harvard University. He was elected to and served three years on the executive of the Secondary Principals Association of New Zealand; he has had a range of coaching and management roles; and was a finalist in NZIM Young Executive of the Year Award.
Jayne de la Haye leads Kristin’s Junior School and Early Learning Centre with a wealth of knowledge and experience gained over an impressive career in top-tier international schools. Her global perspective on education enables her to envision what success looks like for our students and prepares them exceptionally well for the future. With extensive expertise in curriculum development and instructional design, Jayne brings a deep understanding of the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and a lifelong passion for the psychology of learning.
Her philosophy is grounded in the belief that the most effective curriculum is one that comes alive through skillful, dedicated teachers who know how to connect with their students. Jayne is committed to fostering an environment where a sense of belonging, curiosity, and creativity thrives, knowing these are essential to nurturing a love of learning. At the heart of her leadership is the creation and development of high-performing teams, where individual strengths are leveraged for the collective good, and where joy and positivity permeate the learning atmosphere.
Since joining Kristin in 2018, Jayne has brought a dynamic, strengths-based approach to leadership, drawing on her renowned interpersonal skills to build strong relationships across our diverse community. She leads with integrity and purpose and her relentless focus on high-quality education and well-being ensures that every child’s experience is both enriching and meaningful.
Kate joined Kristin as Middle School Principal in 2023.
An advocate for independent education, Kate places strong emphasis on achieving exceptional educational outcomes in a nurturing environment that enhances student wellbeing. Kate is passionate about delivering a personalised education that suits the individual needs of each student.
She also values the importance of community and connection, placing emphasis on building lasting relationships with students, staff and families.
Kate joined us from Principal of Chilton St James, a leading independent girls’ school in Wellington, where she was Principal. She is a familiar face having previously worked in the Middle School for 17 years, which included 11 years as Assistant Principal. She has recently completed a Masters in Educational Leadership from the University of Auckland.
David joined Kristin in January 2016 as Senior School Principal. His passions lie in the importance of strong positive relationships, international curriculum development and helping students build resilience.
David originates from Shropshire, on the North Wales border and has taught in both the UK state and independent sectors, holding leadership roles at Malvern College, a leading co-educational IB boarding school. He and his family moved to Dunedin in 2007, where he was Deputy Principal and IB DP Coordinator at John McGlashan College.
David has been involved with the International Baccalaureate Organisation for nearly 20 years, initially as a teacher, senior examiner and senior moderator in biology and chemistry. Currently, he Chairs both the New Zealand's IB Heads Caucus and IB Schools Australasia. Prior to this he was a member of the Heads Council (2019-2021).
In 2018, David was awarded an ISNZ HISST Scholarship enabling him to compare assessment-based anxiety in students from New Zealand with those in the UK, Switzerland and The Netherlands.
Nigel oversees many areas of the school including finance, information technology, property, grounds, food and facilities and was instrumental in the planning, building and opening of the last four buildings on campus. While exceptional at balancing the books, to most people's surprise, Nigel also has a great sense of humour and enjoys a positive working relationship with all staff.

The school has developed incredibly well from its early beginnings and we want to build on that as the stewards for future generations of students.”
Rebecca (Bex), as Director of Human Resources, provides leadership, support and guidance for over 300 staff across the School. Her role is to attract, engage and develop the best people to deliver high-quality outcomes for the Kristin community.
Bex is from the North Shore and has worked in Human Resources across various industries, including banking and professional services. Passionate about Kristin's connections to the community, her mother attended St Anne’s, and her children have flourished with their Kristin education. She actively involves herself in school activities, including camps and productions.
