Kristin School is owned by a charitable trust, which is managed by four Trustees and six Parent Governors, to form the Kristin School Board of Governors.

Meet the Board

Richard Sharp
Board Chair

Richard's sons attended Kristin. He is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, a member of New Zealand Institute of Directors (NZID) and a Board member of Liquigas Limited. He has worked in the energy sector, and is currently Head of Economic Regulation and Pricing at Vector Limited.

David Kinnear
Deputy Chair

David's son is an Alumni of Kristin. He holds an LLB, has worked with multiple Boards across New Zealand, and he has worked in global advertising agencies. David also runs a brand and communications business.

Melissa Cantell
Trustee

Melissa is a former student of the school and has extensive experience across different sectors, including legal, insurance and financial services.

Phil Doak
Trustee

Phil joined the Board in 2024. He has two daughters who attended Kristin and has over 30 years of experience in the financial services sector. 
 

He has held senior executive positions spanning the strategy, distribution, operations, programme management and technology functions in banking and funds management organisations, and he now consults to the financial services sector as a Partner in a privately owned consulting firm.
 

Phil holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Ag) from Lincoln University, and a Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Financial Services Institute of Australasia. He is a Chartered Member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors and his governance background includes a range of director and oversight roles in public and privately-owned financial services entities, and sports administration.

 

In addition to his academic qualifications, Phil has attended executive leadership programmes at both London and Harvard Business Schools.

Catherine Green
Trustee

Catherine is a former student of the school and joined the Board in 2024. She holds an LLM (international law) and a MBA. Following her earlier career as a litigator in New Zealand, London, and the Cayman Islands, she returned to New Zealand to work as a barrister specialising in arbitration, adjudication and mediation. Catherine is currently a Director of The ADR Centre and related private dispute resolution businesses.

Jane Kennelly
Trustee

Jane's daughter attended Kristin. She has a wide range of business experience in employment and HR and she is currently Director People and Stakeholder at Skills Consulting Group.

Matthew Bellingham
Parent Governor

Matt joined the board in 2021 and currently has three children at Kristin. Matt holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Auckland, was awarded a Fellowship with Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand in 2014 for services to the profession and business and is a member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors. 
 

Matt is a Founding Partner of Bellingham Wallace Chartered Accountants where he specialises in Governance, Strategic Planning, Mergers and Acquisitions and Debt Financing. His career spans 30 years of advising privately held New Zealand companies.  Matt also has significant financial and governance experience in the not-for-profit sector including time as the President of the North Harbour Club, Chair of the North Harbour Business Association, Trustee of the North Harbour Stadium Trust and Chair of the Auckland North Business Excellence Awards.

Stephen England-Hall
Parent Governor

Stephen joined the board in 2024 and has a child currently at Kristin. Stephen has a Masters degree in Business from Cambridge University and has an international career focused on customer strategy, digital transformation and industry disruption.  Stephen has held a number of Chief Executive roles of leading tourism, digital and data companies and currently works in the energy sector. He sits on the boards of ChargeNet, Ecotricity and Figure.NZ and has previously been on the board of Tourism Industry Aotearoa, New Zealand Story, Dosh and The Aotearoa Circle.  

Mayurie Goodwin (Nee Gunatilaka)
Parent Governor

Mayurie joined the Board in 2021 and currently has two children at Kristin. Mayurie is Sri Lankan born and has had a global education across Japan, Sri Lanka, Zambia and high school in New Zealand. Mayurie studied at the University of Auckland and graduated with a Master’s degree in Science in Nuclear Physics and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Physics (Hons).
 

Mayurie is a Chartered Director with an extensive governance and executive background spanning roles in the private and public sector in New Zealand. She is currently the New Zealand Group Leader and also executive Board Member for global consulting firm ARUP in New Zealand. She has previously held national and regional governance roles including serving on the Board of Infrastructure New Zealand (New Zealand Council for Infrastructure Development) and Co-chair in Tauranga for Urban Form and Transport Initiative. 

Cristiano Marantes
Parent Governor

Cristiano has a child currently attending Kristin and he has also worked in the energy sector both internationally and domestically.
