Congratulations to our amazing Year 13 student and Deputy Head Prefect, Sabrina Liu, who has been selected for not one but two New Zealand representative teams for international olympiad competitions.

 

Sabrina has been selected for the six-strong New Zealand Economics Olympiad team to attend the International Economics Olympiad (IEO) in China in July 2026. The IEO is an annual global competition for high school students in economics, business and finance, and New Zealand will compete against over 50 countries. Sabrina will be attending training camps from now until July to prepare for this competition. 

 

As if that wasn’t enough, she has also been selected to represent New Zealand at the International Business and Finance Olympiad (IBFO) in Bucharest, Romania, in August 2026. The IBFO is an international competition focused on business, finance, economics and real-world case analysis. The international competition includes business and finance-based challenges, case analysis and team-based components. There will also be training camps for the team leading up to the event.
