Premier and Senior A Trials: Thursday 7 February, 3.30pm-5:30pm

Tennis Beginner's Programme - Term 1

The Tennis Beginner's Programme for Year 7-13 students will run at Kristin on Tuesday afternoons during Term 1 and Term 4. The Beginner's Programme is for players new to Tennis and for those students wanting to learn the fundamental strokes, tactics and rules of the game.

The programme will run for six weeks during Term 1 and five weeks during Term 4. Sessions will run on Tuesdays, 3.30pm-5pm on the Kristin Tennis Courts.

Other relevant information:

  • A professional Coach from Tennis Northern will run the sessions each week.
  • Students will need to wear tee shirt and shorts, or P.E. uniform is fine. Also you will need to wear some sports shoes and bring your own racket if you have one.
  • The cost for participating in this programme is $50 and will be billed to your school account.

Season/Competition (Year 7-13)

The Secondary Schools' competition runs in Term 1 and Term 4. Parents may be required to manage teams and attend games over the course of the season.

Auckland Secondary Schools Competition

This competition is run on a Saturday morning and is for experienced tennis players only. You must have a grading to take part in this competition.


North Harbour Secondary Schools Competition

This competition is run on a Monday after school and is for beginner to intermediate players. Basic requirements to play in this competition is being able to serve, score and have an understanding of the rules.

Professional coaching will be provided at a weekly training session before school, during the school season in Term 1 and 4. Students are expected to commit for the entire season when they register.



Boys are required to wear the Kristin PE shirt and Kristin PE shorts. Girls are required to wear the Kristin tennis dress. The School tracksuit is compulsory for all students in school sports teams. Students are expected to attend all sporting events in their tracksuit.


Season Fee: Approximately $30 per term. This goes towards covering coaching costs, competition entry and tennis balls. Beginner's programme fee: $50 per term.

Junior School Tennis (Year 1-6)

Tennis Northern deliver our Junior programme. The Hotshots Tennis Coaching Programme offers a holistic experience for children wanting to get involved in Tennis. The programme focuses on ‘playing the game' through the use of specific and modified equipment. In Terms 1 and 4, the programme will operate from Kristin School Astro Courts and in Terms 3 and 4 will move indoors and integrate into the programmes at Tennis Northern Arena.

Players wear their PE uniform. The cost for each Junior School player is approximately $120 per term.

Expression of interest: Any students Years 4-6 interested in trying out for the team to play in a tennis sports exchange in Term 1, a one-day exchange, some tennis experience necessary. Register on the Kristin website.
