Librarian

Role

We are looking for a Teacher Librarian for our Middle School from Years 7-10. This role is based in our central school library, catering for all students from Kindergarten to Senior School. This open plan, welcoming environment is a favourite space for our students, and you would be instrumental in fostering their passion for reading and learning; teaching them how to research, and use print and digital resources, to enhance their knowledge. Working alongside teachers, you will team teach classes as well as support normal library activities. This busy role is part of a team of four and operates Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 4.30pm, term time only plus one week each term break (41 weeks of the year). Ideally this role would start in January however the start date can be negotiable. 

Experience Needed
  • Qualified Librarian or currently studying
  • Experience with intermediate or upper primary students
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft office and GSuite for Education
  • Experience with using Digital Curation tools
  • Highly organised, with great attention to detail
  • Customer focused with an empathy for children.

Familiarity with Library Management Systems would be an advantage. Most importantly, the successful applicant will care for children and able to demonstrate commitment to Kristin's values and its distinct motto to "Progress with Vision, Integrity and Love".

English Teacher
 

Role and Experience Needed

We are seeking an inspiring teacher for English commencing 2018, start date negotiable. Concentrating on mainly the Senior School (Year 11-13), the person will have the ability to also teach at the Middle level (Year 9-10). Knowledge of the New Zealand Curriculum or IB would be advantageous, however training is provided.

The English faculty is welcoming and supportive and professional development is fundamental to the faculty.
