GAIL Conference - Destination Edinburgh
Finally having reached our incredibly exciting destination of Edinburgh, we were all eager to get immersed in the historic city. It was sad to say goodbye to our driver Paul (who we didn't always understand even though we both English). We sung Paul a song to say thanks and moved into the YHA.
Our first morning in Edinburgh started around 9.30am, slowly wandering to Edinburgh castle our first activity. We made sure our pace was leisurely as to take in all of cobblestones and cathedrals, everywhere we looked beautiful architecture and history leaving us mind blown. The castle met all its expectations and more. Each room even more intricately furnished than the previous, all oozing with stories from the past. The castle its self was breathtaking, not to mention the view we had spanning out in all directions of the striking city of Edinburgh. We could not wait to walk the streets ourselves. After our sunny lunch in the princes’ gardens, we could sense the desperation in the group to explore the rest of the area, and that’s exactly what the rest of the afternoon was dedicated too. The day was topped off with reuniting back with our Aussie friends in the Doric pub for tea, and a surprise visit from some Americans. Lets just say Edinburgh did not disappoint!
The trip has been amazing and it was great to finish in such an amazingly beautiful and energetic city!
