Vietnam 2014 - Final Blog

After another night train back from Sapa and Lao Cai we headed to Halong Bay for an amazing night on board the beautiful Victory Star where we saw limestone caves, swam and walked to the top of one island to views over the UNESCO heritage site. That evening we enjoyed a cooking demonstration (spring rolls), had a lovely meal and cruised until we anchored in a sheltered spot and a few of us had a chance to fish for squid!.

Awoke to Tai Chi in the morning (very few takers as it was an early start) then those who were awake ventured to a lagoon and saw some monkeys, had brunch and then headed back to Halong Bay city to bus back to Hanoi. Our last day was a busy day packed with seeing Ho Chi Minh in his mausoleum, the Temple of Literature, the first University in Hanoi and the 'Hanoi Hilton'.

The final evening was a water puppet show followed by a lovely meal before heading back to pack ready for departure home.
