Introducing David Boardman, Senior School Principal
Mr David Boardman Bsc (Hons), PGCE MIBiol CBiol
David joined Kristin in January 2016 as Senior School Principal. His passions lie in the importance of strong positive relationships, international curriculum development and helping students build resilience.
David originates from "The Marches", an area on the Welsh borders and has taught in both the UK state and independent sectors, holding leadership roles at Malvern College, a leading coeducational boarding school. He and his family moved to Dunedin in 2007, where he was Deputy Principal and IB DP Coordinator at John McGlashan College. During 2015 he led the development of the school's Māori & Pasifika group, which is now moving from strength to strength. David and his family finally made the leap and became New Zealand Citizens in November 2015.
David has two daughters at Kristin, one in the Junior School and one in the Middle School. Along with spending as much time as possible with his family he enjoys a wide range of activities including target shooting (where he competed internationally), Olympic Recurve archery, fishing and riding his motorbike. He believes that all teachers need to be truly passionate about not only their subjects but also developing the whole person, as this is always evident to students and essential in allowing them to flourish. David is always looking to develop opportunities for students to explore their limits and push themselves, learning from both the successes and also from those times when things don't quite work out as expected.
