Introducing Jayne de la Haye, Junior School Principal

Mrs Jayne de la Haye, BSc (Hons), PGCE, MSc

 

Jayne is a dynamic professional with a proven track record of leadership in top tier schools worldwide. She has excellent interpersonal skills and a renowned ability to build strong relationships with all members of the community from diverse cultures and backgrounds. She has a clear vision of what students need in order to be successful in an increasingly globalised and technological world. Jayne possesses the strong analytical skills that are necessary to ensure student success and ongoing educational development.



Jayne's most recent role was as IB PYP Co-ordinator at Takapuna Normal Intermediate School. She also held a senior leadership role working across the Westlake Community of Schools (COL) raising student achievement and well-being, by promoting innovative and effective teaching approaches from early childhood through to the end of high school. Prior to her move to New Zealand, Jayne spent 20 years of educational leadership in highly-regarded international schools in Vietnam, Oman, Tanzania and Venezuela. During this time, she also developed strong ties with the IB organisation, contributing to the development of the PYP and working as a consultant. She began her teaching career in the early ‘90s at Woodlands Primary School in London. Jayne has an MSc in International Education from New York State University and a BSc Honours degree in Psychology. She is a member of the British Psychological Society. 



Her interests include the environment, music and the arts. Jayne is a champion for a variety of co-curricular activities and believes in the importance of these activities in developing an all-round student. She has two teenage sons, and her husband, Terry, is an educational leader also.
