2022 Junior School Production - Cinderella

In Week 5 of Term 4, energy, anticipation, and great excitement pulsated through the Kristin Auditorium. It was here that our 498 Junior School students, and Kristin’s youngest performers, finally got to take to the stage to perform the magically enchanting tale of Cinderella to two sold-out audiences. A true celebration of the talent that is nurtured through our Junior School, this was the first time that our cohort of Kindergarten to Year 6 students took the stage together in two years.

As is tradition in our Junior School Productions, every student in the school proudly danced and sung as part of the cast, dressed in full costumes on a professional style set. It is extraordinary to watch older cast members tackling more difficult choreography, harmonies, and staging, while seeing the wide-eyed amazement of many younger cast members as they take to the stage for the first time. A very special occasion is watching Year 6 students lead the Kindy performers out onto the stage – a heartwarming pre-show
moment that embodies the evolution of each Kristin student’s journey over their time in the Junior School.

Behind the spectacular magic that is witnessed on stage, is a team of dedicated and hard-working staff and community members. These talented individuals, from across all three schools, make up the exceptional Production Team that make the impossible possible in all that we do here on the Kristin Auditorium stage – especially when it comes to the logistical challenges and complexities of bringing together a cast of almost 500 students. Pumpkins cannot become golden carriages, and glass slippers cannot just appear, without the work of
this incredibly talented team – all of whom deserve a rousing round of applause.

Offering a theatrical performance opportunity to every student in the school, each year, highlights the importance of the arts in a young person’s life. It is not just about the accolades they receive for what they achieve on stage – it is about the life lessons and memories they create off stage, learning what it means to be a performer, a communicator, a team-player, and a contributor to our society. Thank you so much to everyone who makes these experiences possible for our students.

Bravo to our youngest Kristin performers for their courage and passion in preparing and performing Cinderella in 2022. May the memories of the ball linger long past the clock strikes twelve.
