Kristin Music Rocks the Stage with Mick Fleetwood and Sir Bob Geldof

On Monday night a group of Kristin Middle and Senior School music students took to the stage of the Vodafone Events Centre performing for a packed audience including Sir Bob Geldof (Live Aid, The Boomtown Rats) and Mick Fleetwood (Fleetwood Mac). This exciting event was a fundraiser for New Zealand youth music charity Play It Strange and was produced by Duco Events.

Our students were fortunate to hear Fleetwood and Geldof talking about their life and influences as musicians. Their talk included many colourful stories and reflections on their journey as internationally acclaimed musicians.

As part of the evening Mick Fleetwood had selected two of his favourite songs for our Kristin students to perform with Kristin parent Geoff Sewell. Mick Fleetwood and the audience were hugely impressed by the Kristin students' entertaining renditions of Nat King Cole's When I Fall In Love and Dean Martin's Memories Are Made of This.
