2019 Junior School Production - Seussical Jr.

The wild imagination of Dr Seuss has enchanted readers for almost a century, and Seussical Jr. brings the rhyme, colour and fun from the page to the stage in a perfectly adapted version written specifically for young performers. Our Junior School students proudly took to the stage to share their talents with close to 1,200 audience members.
Our Junior School Production is an extremely special Performing Arts event at Kristin, due to the involvement of every student in the school from Kindergarten to Year 6. With a cast of over 450, these productions celebrate so much about the power of the arts in a young person’s life, and how important it is to expose young people to music, dance and movement at an early age. To bring this many students together on stage in a joyous production such as Seussical Jr. is extremely exciting.
Seussical Jr. is a show with more than just a catchy score and larger than life characters. It is a show with strong and relevant messages scattered throughout the adventures in the Jungle of Nool and Whoville. Honesty, loyalty and hope are among the messages that shine through, in a world where these could not be more relevant to instil in our young people. Our cast let their imaginations runs wild to bring these stories and messages to the stage. Their enthusiasm was infectious, their passion for theatre inspiring – I could not be more proud of each and every one of them.
Supporting our large cast has, once again, been an extremely talented group of parents, staff and friends of Kristin – creating a spectacle through over-grown feather tails, over-sized picture book and over-the-top nests! The ‘big thinks’ required for a show like this to succeed would not be possible if they were not made practical by these extremely generous individuals. Thank you to these Performing Arts supporters for making ‘anything possible’. Thank you also to our excellent Production Team for providing so much to our students and our productions.
Seussical Jr. was the perfect way to wrap up an extremely successful year of Kristin Productions. Horton the Elephant, Gertrude McFuzz and the full range of eclectic and energetic characters of the Seussian world will be remembered here at Kristin for a long time to come.
