Euphony wins Gold
This year the 2017 New Zealand Choral Federation's National Finale was held in Auckland at the Aotea Centre. From the 250 choirs who competed regionally only 24 are selected to compete nationally. This year Euphony's 37 girls from Year 9-13 competed in this prestigious competition last week. They sang in two recitals to four adjudicators from both New Zealand and Australia. Their five pieces awarded them a Gold from the judges. Only four Gold awards were given out this year.
We also congratulate Cantare, from Westlake Girls, Saints Alive from St. Cuthbert's, and Choralation from Westlake Girls and Boys, who also took out the Supreme Platinum award. All the girls of Euphony need to be congratulated this week. They are also indebted to their conductor, David Squire and accompanist, Gracie Francis.
We also say a farewell to the senior members of the choir, the Year 13's who have been the choir leaders. They are; Amie Dennis, Victoria Gancheva, Bailey Dobbs, Anna-lise Hinton, Helena Wiseman and Eadi Scott who were also the choir students representative for 2017. All the best to you girls and thank you for your leadership and commitment to Euphony this year.
