SGCNZ National Schools Shakespeare Production

The SGCNZ National Shakespeare Schools Production (NSSP) was held in Wellington from 29th September to 7th October, culminating in performances of scenes from A Midsummer Nights' Dream (directed by Professor Terence Crawford), Henry V (directed by Erina Daniels) and Macbeth (directed by James Cain) at Pipitea Marae on Saturday 5th October and The Legislative Chamber in Parliament on Sunday 6th October.

Three talented Kristin students, Alex Gordon, Emma Hoseason and Cam Scott, were chosen in the group of only 46 performers from 24 Regional and National SGCNZ University of Otago Sheilah Winn Shakespeare Festivals across New Zealand to take part in this programme, which saw them spend half of each day participating in workshops with high quality industry professionals and the other half of each day rehearsing their allocated scenes.

Alex, Emma and Cam all gave engaging and confident performances, showing no sign that they had only had 5 half days of rehearsals prior to the performances. They were an absolute credit to themselves, their families and to Kristin School.
