All students in the Junior, Middle and Senior Schools get involved in Athletics. The school championship events are held during Terms 1 and 4, with each year level taking part in a one-day competition. Top performers from each division are then selected to take part in local, regional and national championship tournaments.

The Junior School holds a one-day Athletics day for Year 4-6 and Year 0-3. A team is selected to represent Kristin at the Northern Bays Super Cluster Athletics Championship Term 4.
Following the Kristin Year 7-8 Athletics Day which is held in November, a team will be chosen to represent the school at the North Harbour Zone and the ensuing Inter-zone Year 7-8 Championships, held in Term 4.
A Year 9-13 team will be selected to compete in the North Harbour Zone Athletics and those who qualify will be selected to go on to the Greater Auckland Championships and the North Island Championships later in Term 1. A team will also be chosen to attend the New Zealand Secondary Schools Track and Field and Road Race Championships held in December, at the end of the school year.

Secondary School Athletics
School Athletics singlet and PE shorts. The school tracksuit is compulsory for all students in school sports teams. Students are expected to arrive at all sporting events in their tracksuit.
Cost for attending North Island and NZSS Athletics Champs will depend on the locality. A small administration fee is charged for local and regional champs.
