Badminton

Badminton is played indoors and is an ideal sport to get involved in over the winter months. Teams are spread over seven age categories from Year 3 to Year 13. Prospective players need no experience as long as they are keen to learn, have a racquet and can attend practice once per week after school.

Junior School Badminton Club (Year 3-6)

The Junior School Badminton club runs once per week in Term 2 and Term 3. Students can join for both or for just one term. Training is held on Tuesdays after school in the Roy Munn Gym from 3.20pm-4.20pm. The students will learn basic skills from a qualified coach, play games and modified badminton games.

Fees are approximately $40 per term, depending on the numbers involved in the programme. Students wear PE uniform to sessions. Interested students may also like to trial to play in a one day competition early in Term 2. (See separate registration for expressions of interest in trialling).

Season/Competition

Intermediate (Year 7/8), Junior (Year 9/10) and Senior (Year 11-13) teams are entered into the North Harbour Schools Competition at the North Harbour Badminton Stadium. The competition for Senior Secondary School runs in Term 2, while Intermediate and Junior Secondary School runs in Term 3.
