Hands Alive Puppet Show
Hands Alive is a wonderful travelling Puppet Show that brings fun and entertainment into the classroom. Our current inquiry focus is storytelling. The fundaments of which are telling stories to inform and entertain, and entertain the show did. The energetic and creative puppeteer introduced many quirky characters who had information and stories to share. the puppeteer touched on familiar tales such as "We're going on a Lion hunt" and "Are you my Mother?". She also integrated important messages such as sun safety and being kind to others throughout her show.
The room full of Year 0 students burst with laughter and wonder. Each student watched in awe and interacted with excitement. Once the show was over, the puppeteer revealed herself and the mechanics of how different puppets worked and were created. We were treated to a puppet workshop in which students too could bring characters to life. She encouraged all students to give the puppets a go and inspired us all to make some in our class.
