New Zealand Olympiad in Informatics selection

Congratulations to Yihan Lu (Year 10), who has been selected for the New Zealand Olympiad in Informatics (NZOI) squad, placing him among the top 10 competitive high school programmers in New Zealand.
NZOI provides an opportunity for high school students excited by computer science and programming to come together to improve their skills while meeting like-minded students passionate about the topic.
Selection into the NZOI Squad is a significant achievement, and Yihan earned his place through strong performance and commitment, working hard during the NZOI training camp over the summer holidays.
As a member of the squad, the students will now be training for two international selection contests: the Australian Invitational Informatics Olympiad (AIIO) and the French–Australian Regional Informatics Olympiad (FARIO). Yihan’s results in AIIO and FARIO will determine whether he is selected for the team of four students to represent New Zealand at the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI), to be held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from 9-16 August 2026.
Well done, Yihan, we wish you all the best with your upcoming competitions and IOI selection.
