St George's Exchange - Santiago
During my second weekend in Argentina, I had the opportunity to visit the city. The main city area, which people call “the capital”, is very large and has many historic monuments and tourist attractions. One of them would be the “Plaza de la República” which is an area in the middle of a long intersection of avenues. Within this plaza, there is a monument which is called “Obelisco de Buenos Aires” which is an obelisk. At night this area lights up and looks beautiful with lights from the billboards as well as they lights at the bottom of the obelisk.
Easter! I was lucky enough to be able to experience this holiday while in Argentina. We got the Thursday and Friday before Easter off. During this time Santiago and I spent a lot of time going to the park to play football or going for swims at his friends’ places, the weather during the week was very good so it was the perfect time to do so. On Sunday morning, I went to church with his family and then after we went to the city to his grandparents' place to meet some of his cousins, aunts and uncles. We had lunch and then went for a walk around the city where they showed me the different buildings which belong to the university and the malls. Once we returned we were given Easter eggs which were very large and wrapped with ribbons.
