The New Zealand Shakeout 2018
On Thursday the Junior School participated in the New Zealand Shakeout 2018. This involved all of the students dropping, covering and holding as we simulated an earthquake. Last year we participated in this for the first time as a result of Jack Shaw taking action as part of his PYP Exhibition inquiry. In 2018 students are eligible to win prizes from the Ministry of Civil Defence and Emergency Management. All they need to do is complete the 8 New Zealand 2018 Schools Challenge activities and return the completed checklist to the Junior School Office. We all had a great time and are now much better prepared in case an earthquake should strike at some time in the future.
