Prestige Award winners announced at Senior School Prizegiving

Kristin’s Senior School Prizegiving is a significant opportunity to celebrate exceptional Senior School student achievement throughout the year.

This Prizegiving acknowledges the top academic students from each of the three Senior School year levels, with students being awarded Excellence certificates for first place in each subject and Merit certificates presented to the placegetters, as well as Faculty Trophies.

At the end of each year level's list of winners, the overall academic excellence winners for that year group were announced. In 2024, Junyi Guo was our Year 11 winner, and in Year 12, Gabe Goddard was the NCEA winner, and Won Kim was the International Baccalaureate (IB) winner.

At the end of the prizegiving ceremony, the Prestige Awards, which recognise excellence among Senior students, are awarded.

The Claudia Wysocki Memorial Trophy for IB Dux of School was awarded to Emma Gunn. The Stevens Award for NCEA Dux of School, presented by Mr and Mrs B Stevens, went to Ariel Yu.

The Appreciation Cup for attitude, reliability, kindness, courtesy and consideration towards others was donated by the 1995 Board of Governors in recognition of 22 years of service by Lynn Williams. This year, it was awarded to Prefect Stella McKay.

The Sir Denis Blundell Trophy for personal conduct and citizenship was awarded to Angus Baker. Angus was a deputy Head Prefect this year and was also awarded the Service to School Cup at the Service and Leadership Assembly in Term 3.

For the first time since 2020, the Achievement Trophy was awarded. This trophy is for participation in and contribution to a prestigious standard in academic, sporting and cultural activities. This year, it was awarded to Prefect Matthew Zheng.

The Anna Fuller Trophy, presented by the Fuller family in recognition of Anna, a prefect in 2004, was presented to Rehaan Vazir for his committed and positive attitude in the pursuit of excellence.

The Gifford Shield, donated by Mr M Gifford, is awarded to a student who exemplifies leadership qualities. This year, it was awarded to Head Prefect Randal Yao. Randal was also awarded the Amos Cup for Head Boy.

The ultimate Prestige Award is the Foundation Cup. This cup is presented to the student who shows the true Kristin example and was donated by Stanley and Joy Jober in 1975. This year, it was awarded to our very deserving and outstanding Head Prefect Lily Rushworth. Lily was also awarded the Wright Cup for Head Girl.

Congratulations to all of the award winners for 2024, we look forward to seeing which students excel wholeheartedly above and beyond in 2025.
