History Bee and Bowl Champions

On Saturday 28 March, Kristin historians participated in the New Zealand History Bee and Bowl held at Kristin. This event is an international quiz competition featuring buzzer-style questions on a variety of historical topics. The matches pit teams from different schools against each other across four rounds.
Three teams of historians from Kristin performed exceptionally well, with Matthew Lee, Oliver He, Sarah Alshaar, Quinn Zhang, Kendrick Zhang and Sam Coombe coming first overall in the History Bowl. Meanwhile, another team consisting of Jason He, Connor Donovan, Dominic Xia, Wesley Pinner, Jerry Zhang and Andrew Guan narrowly missed third place by one question but nevertheless demonstrated superb historical knowledge.
In the individual competition, the History Bee, Connor Donovan
dominated to come first, and Oliver He came second overall. Quinn
Zhang came second in the Junior Varsity competition, and Kendrick
Zhang came third. Both of these incredibly knowledgeable students
attended the International History Bee and Bowl competition in Paris.
The rest of the teams did an amazing job answering some very difficult
and often obscure aspects of human history. Well done to all of our
students involved!
