Science Teacher/Curriculum Leader Science

We are seeking an inspiring teacher for Science commencing Term 2 2018. Open to beginning or experienced teachers, we are seeking someone who is willing to teach across Year 7-11 as well as their specialism in Year 12-13. A curriculum Leader of Science role, responsible for administering Year 10 and 11 courses, may also be offered to the successful candidate. Please state if you wish to be considered for this as well as your Science specialism.

Role and experience needed

We are seeking an inspiring teacher to join our Middle and Senior School Visual Arts department, commencing Term 2. This position would suit a visual arts educator keen to contribute to curriculum and departmental development in a well-resourced independent school. Applicants should communicate the art mediums in which they have strength. Knowledge of the New Zealand Curriculum or IB would be advantageous, however training is provided.

Part-time Technology Teacher

Role and experience needed

Are you imaginative, creative and adaptable? We are seeking a world-class part-time technology teacher on a LTR this year, start date negotiable. This role will have a 0.6 load, however potential to increase in the future. You will have a broad skill base that can span technological disciplines for our Middle and Senior Schools, Year 7-13, however a specialty in graphics is desirable.  You will be supportive of students to identify problems and needs, conceptualise designs and realise challenging and imaginative solutions.

Middle School Librarian

Role

We are looking for a Librarian for our Middle School from Years 7-10. This role is based in our central school library, catering for all students from Kindergarten to Senior School. This open plan, welcoming environment is a favourite space for our students, and you would be instrumental in teaching them how to research; to use print and digital resources, to enhance their knowledge and to inspire their passion for reading and learning. Working alongside teachers, you will team teach classes to support inquiry learning and the MYP curriculum, as well as support normal library activities. This busy role is part of a team of four and operates Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 4.30pm, term time only plus one week each term break (41 weeks of the year). Ideally this role would start in February however the start date can be negotiable.

Experience needed

  • Qualified Librarian or currently undertaking study towards a Library Science Qualification
  • Experience with intermediate or upper primary students desirable
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft office and GSuite for Education
  • Experience with using Digital Curation tools and familiarity with Library Management Systems would be an advantage
  • Highly organised, with great attention to detail
  • Customer focused with an empathy for children

Junior School Principal

Role

Our current Junior School Principal has been appointed to an Executive Principal role in another leading Independent School. Consequently, an amazing opportunity has arisen for a charismatic and inspiring leader to join our Senior Leadership Team in Term 3, 2018. Our Junior School encompasses Years 1-6 with 450 students, alongside our newly opened Early Learning Centre and well-established Kindergarten. The role offers the opportunity to continue the successes of the Junior School while continually improving relationships within the wider school and Kristin community. This role reports to the Executive Principal and focuses on the strategic and operational management of the school in alignment with the Middle and Senior schools. The capability to lead a diverse team effectively and creatively, and contribute positively to the wider Senior Leadership Team is essential.

Experience needed

A strong and proven track record of innovation and educational excellence in Primary Education is essential for this role. You will have a passion for leading, motivating and developing people, a strong knowledge of curriculum and a focus on innovative student learning experiences. Kind and generous, you will have the proven ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with our students, staff, families, community, and prospective families. You will create a happy and positive environment, where children flourish with personalised care and attention and build a commitment to cultural diversity and understanding.

As a charismatic leader, you will have exceptional communication, time management and business skills along with strong financial management skills. Their capability to lead a diverse team effectively and creatively, and contribute positively to the whole school Senior Leadership Team is essential.

As this role oversees the operations of our Early Learning Centre and Kindergarten, knowledge of these early childhood education would be advantageous, but not essential.
