The Four Four Festival
As a provocation for our Unit of Inquiry “How we express ourselves”, the Year 4 students engaged in a Term 4 Year 4 Festival. The Central Idea is ‘Celebrations create an awareness and appreciation of culture’. We celebrated being in Term 4 Year 4 at Kristin School. In groups of four we sat in a circle and shared some of our highlights of our time at Kristin. During our FFF day the square was symbolic and the four sides reminded us that we are in Term 4 Year 4 of Kristin. In 4B we reflected on what makes us a Kristin student and what we have achieved at Kristin school. We recorded four of our thoughts on the four sides of the square which we then displayed in class as the 4(four), 4(four), F(festival). Then we got into groups of four outside and played Rob the Nest. To end our festival we blew up a balloons to celebrate our Four Four Festival. After we decorated our balloons to display our creative talents.
Some of our thoughts are listed below:-
Being principled and balanced
Courageous and open-minded students
Caring about others
Passionate about inquiry learning
Vision, integrity and love
Knowledgeable thinkers and inquirers.
Reflective learners who set goals
Having fun and being happy
Amazing attitude and independence
We enjoyed the F.F.F day and found it an enriching experience.
