Incredible Maths results for Kristin students

2025 has been an exciting year for our Kristin School students, filled with opportunities to showcase their mathematical talents.
In April, 25 of our students participated in the Junior Mathematics Competition, organised by the University of Otago. They competed against 5,100 students from all across New Zealand. We are proud to share that two of our Middle and Senior School students made it into the Top 30 nationwide, with one Year 10 student, Sophie Xu, securing second place overall.
Then, in July, our Senior Mathematics students took part in the NZAMT Mathematics Competition. Out of 394 teams and 271 individual entries nationwide, one of our teams secured second place – an outstanding achievement – and our other three teams all ranked within the top 20.
In August, students from all three schools – Junior, Middle and Senior – took part in the well-known Australian Mathematics Competition. Since its inception in 1978, the AMC has attracted over 15.7 million entries from countries across Asia, the Pacific, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. From our 89 participants, nine students achieved High Distinction, placing in the top 3% across New Zealand. Additionally, two Year 12 students, Mikey Li and Junyi Guo, received a Prize for achieving the top scores.

Additionally, our students participated in the European Girls' Maths Olympiad, Inter School Maths Olympiad, the Auckland Maths Olympiad, Mathex, Calcex and the New Zealand Maths Olympiad.
