Why Kristin?

Kristin is an independent, co-educational school of approximately 1550 students from Kindergarten through to Year 13, located in Albany on Auckland's North Shore.

The Junior, Middle and Senior Schools are all situated on the same campus, on 50 acres of park-like grounds with state-of-the-art and award winning facilities. Each school follows the philosophy of Kristin while creating their own distinctive character relative to the age group of the students. Kristin is non-denominational and welcomes students from all cultures and backgrounds.

Academic Excellence at our IB World School

In its 40-year rise to become one of the New Zealand's leading independent schools, Kristin has established an enviable international reputation. The first school in New Zealand to introduce the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, Kristin is the only New Zealand school authorised to offer the IB Primary Years, Middle Years and Diploma programmes alongside the New Zealand National Curriculum to Junior, Middle and Senior School students. The school maintains well-developed student exchange links with countries across the globe and regularly welcomes international students into its classrooms.

Kristin's proud record of success as a leading IB school has allowed students to gain entry to some of the world's most prestigious universities and our Senior School students are regularly ranked amongst the highest achievers in national and international examinations.

As an IB World School, Kristin is committed to developing an international perspective and a sense of global awareness across all three schools and throughout the wider Kristin community. Students of all year levels regularly partake in service initiatives to support others within the school, the local community and in the Asia Pacific region.

Innovation beyond the Classroom

Kristin is renowned for its progressive approach to education and has been a national leader with innovations such as the school-wide teaching of Mandarin, the development of specialised Middle School teaching methods, a digital learning programme across all year levels and a high-speed secure wireless network covering the entire campus.

Kristin productions deliver theatrical experiences to rival those of professional performance groups and the school's high performance sport programmes ensure athletes are supported in both their academic and competitive pursuits.
