Sabrina Liu receives Outstanding Scholar Award

Sabrina Liu (Year 13) has secured a remarkable six scholarships in her 2025 NCEA Scholarship exams, including two Outstanding Scholarships. Sabrina is also one of just 57 students in New Zealand who have received an Outstanding Scholar Award this year.

Following on from her Outstanding Scholarship for Dance in 2024, Sabrina has done it again, being one of only three students in the country to be awarded an Outstanding Scholarship for Dance in 2025, an incredible back-to-back feat.

Sabrina also excelled in Economics and was one of just nine students in New Zealand to be awarded an Outstanding Scholarship in Economics.

The success doesn’t stop there; Sabrina has also secured scholarships in four more subjects, including English, French, Art History, and Health and Physical Education.

Sabrina's overall scholarship success has earned her a place among just 57 students nationwide to receive an Outstanding Scholar Award. Sabrina was also just one point away from being named a Premier Scholar, which is awarded to the top 12 students in the country.

"I am so grateful to all the teachers whose support made my Scholarship results possible. A special thank you to Ms Lauago for her incredible support in Dance, and to Yolanda and Nelly for giving up their time to work and perform alongside me. I've truly learnt so much throughout this process," says Sabrina.

Even more remarkably, Sabrina is an International Baccalaureate (IB) student, so she has pursued these scholarship opportunities above and beyond her IB curriculum requirements.

Congratulations, Sabrina. The Kristin community is incredibly proud of your achievements!
