Winter Sports Update

It has been pleasing to see our winter sports teams in action, despite the wretched Auckland weather. Our teams have been out there competing against the best in Auckland and North Harbour.

Delighted to see our Premier Netball Team qualify through grading to compete in the top Premier North Harbour Division. A direct result of their hard work and training. On Saturday they fought out a 40 all draw with the Rangitoto College Premier Team, an exciting match indeed. Well played girls.

In Hockey our 1st XI Girls Team have made it into the "Super City " tier one competition. They went down 1 - 2 to Kings last Thursday in the first round. This was a top effort by the girls who were without some key players due to injury and illness. The boys 1st XI playing in the tier 2 Super City competition lost 1 -2 to St Peters College.

Our Premier Basketball Boys Team have been playing in the North Harbour U19 league. On Friday they went down by 4 goals to Orewa Premiers. It was an exciting match that went down to the wire. They are playing an open fast paced game and the boys are thriving under the expert guidance of Carl Buck the head coach.

This year we have 23 Netball teams of which the year 7,8 and 9 top teams along with our Premiers are playing in the Top North Harbour Division.

In basketball, we have 10 mini ball teams along with 15 basketball teams from the middle and senior schools playing in the North Harbour schools competition. Our Hockey programme has 13 teams along with 12 teams in Football. This year we have two middle school girls teams for the first time playing in the local competition.
