Kristin School Train With North Harbour Rugby
A group of Kristin students got to develop their rugby skills with the help of some local professionals this past Sunday.
A dozen North Harbour Mitre 10 Cup players took time out of their preparations for their Battle of the Bridge match against Auckland (7:30 p.m. Friday at Eden Park) to work with Year 10 PE students learning touch rugby and then stayed to put on a skills session for Kristin 1st XV and 6th-grade rugby players.
The North Harbour players’ passion for their sport showed through in the sessions and their positive approach was infectious. It was great to see the ball handling, line-out, kicking and tackling skills they taught being implemented directly by our players during rugby training the next day.
We are working with North Harbour to further develop this relationship and look forward to more interactions with our local professional players in the future.
A sincere Thank You to the North Harbour players and coaches who made the sessions possible and we wish you good luck, both for Friday and the season ahead.
