Junior School Football Success
A Year 3/4 team and a Year 5/6 team competed on a cold and windy day at East Coast Bays Football club.
The year 3/4 team, under the guidance of Mr Rob Hutton, improved throughout the day, winning their playoff match and along the way unearthing several players of real potential that we hope will feature in Kristin football sides in the years to come.
The year 5/6 team had a stellar day. 11 days earlier they drew 3 games and lost 1 at a tournament held at Kristin. Yes, they had been competitive in that tournament and with a couple of new faces and clearly being better for that experience went on win this tournament, winning every game, including the final, in some style.
Of course, it's enjoyable to win but what was pleasing was the effort and quality of play throughout the day. None of their wins were flukes and some of the goals they scored were top draw - and they conceded only 1.
There is a real bubble of talent in this age band and we look forward to progressing them through the Kristin football pathway and helping them realise their full potential.
