French Exchange: Our Arrival
With the school year finished, assignments handed in and our bags packed, all that was left between Elvis and I and Paris was the longest flight in the entire world. Little did we know, it was going to get even longer. We were diverted to Dubai’s other airport after fog in Dubai and as a result, missed our connection, so we didn't arrive in Paris until that night - but the city by night is a beautiful thing.
The first week has flown by. At first, it was very difficult to speak in French all the time and to have French spoken to you at high speed, but as the days have gone by I have adjusted more and more. School in Paris is a very different affair, for example, on Thursdays I don’t start until noon! There is a sit down meal for lunch in a cafeteria, and it has been a lot of fun getting to know a whole raft of new people.
This weekend I am going to see the Eiffel Tower and a whole raft of other incredible sights. As the French would say, “j’attends avec impatience”.
