Jonathan's French Blog
Three weeks we have been in France. Three weeks of immense amounts of fun. This last week has been amazing. We have finished school, which is sad as I was having fun meeting French people and being integrated into their lives. But now we have holidays! On Friday Finley and I visited the Louvre, (a massive art museum inside the Louvre palace) with an art history teacher. It was extremely interesting, the teacher was able to explain the history and composition of the paintings in great detail which I enjoyed a lot. We managed to see the Mona Lisa without a very large crowd as we got to the Louvre early. That was a great trip. I have just returned from a three day bike ride in the Loire Valley, which was amazing! The number of castles and palaces in extraordinary. There are so many more old and beautiful buildings is France than in New Zealand. To get to school here in France I take the tram, which is very different than at home, where I go to school by car. Also school is different, they have free periods at random times and the school day doesn't end at a fixed time like in New Zealand. All in all the last three weeks have been most enjoyable.
