World Class Facilities

Science and Technology Centre

The combined Science and Tecnhology Centre, with its innovative design, provides 16 teaching spaces and laboratories for all science and technology subjects.  The teaching spaces are built around a central atrium or "mall" that provides social spaces for students.  This feature provides space for students to socialise, especially when it is cold and wet during winter.  The building also has extensive natural lighting as well as energy-efficient heating and cooling systems.

The Library and Information Centre

This iconic building is built around a central gully area and surrounds the well-developed bush with the trees being preserved to add to the character and aesthetics of the building.

Effectively several buildings in one, this is a multi-purpose facility, which incorporates the Library and Information Centre, Senior Study Centre, Senior Administration and Public Gallery and Conference facilities.

The Library and Information Centre occupies the first floor of the building and houses the main library for the Middle and Senior Schools as well as a separate Junior School library.  It also includes reading and seminar rooms that class groups can use for supervised reading or research-based lessons.

The Senior Study Centre on the ground floor includes a study room as well as a senior common room with an external courtyard for Year 13 students.

The large open central space has been utilised for parent dinners, art exhibitions, the Xmas shop, Middle School socials and much more.

Humanities and Commerce Centre

The Humanities and Commerce Centre houses the Humanities and Commerce Faculty as well as the Information
and Communication Technology Services (ICTS).  This building is breaking new ground academically with the restructuring of traditional department and subject disciplines into seven academic faculties.

Facilities in this centre include 12 classrooms - all equipped with state-of-the-art ICT resources, meeting rooms and dedicated workspace for the faculty staff.

Performing Arts Theatre (The Dove)

Completed in 2005, this building replaced the old audio-visual theatre.  Located next to the 1200-seat auditorium, it was constructed to meet the need for a more intimate space that can accommodate up to 220 people.
As excellent acoustics was a top priority for this facility Kristin visited other schools with similar facilities to understand what they had done.  Consultation took place with architects and sound engineers to design the desired outcome.  We are extremely pleased with the results, given that a person can speak on stage without a microphone and can be heard clearly throughout the entire theatre.
