What are the Entry Points to Kristin School?

With our roll of 1600 students spread evenly across our three-school structure, we believe we are well placed to offer the optimal balance of pastoral and academic, sporting and cultural opportunities for all our students.

Junior School Entry

Kindergarten is the traditional entry point to our Junior School. Children commence each term according to the date of their fourth birthday. Students attend full-day sessions, five days per week.  At 4 years of age children attend the Kindergarten followed by a very specific Transition to School Programme from 4 ½ years of age.  Interviews for Kindergarten entry are held with families shortly after a child's third birthday.

From time to time Junior School vacancies do occur and therefore we welcome applications from students across all year levels.

Middle School Entry

The traditional points of entry are at Year 7 and Year 9 however from time to time vacancies do occur and therefore we welcome applications from students across all Middle School year levels.  For Years 7 and 9, interviews commence approximately 18 months prior to the point of entry. Year 7 is our largest intake point but by increasing the number of classes at Year 9 we are also able to accommodate more new students at this level.

Senior School Entry

We accept applications at each level with a preference given to Year 11 students due to the option we offer of dual pathways (NCEA and IB).

Interviews for entry in 2013 are well underway.  Kindergarten interviews are also being held for children who turn 4 years of age during 2012 and 2013. To ensure vacancies are still available, we encourage applications for entry to Years 7 and 9 2013 should be submitted before the end of Term 2, 29 June 2012.

Curriculum information can be viewed under Junior School, Middle School and Senior School.

Applicants on our database will be interviewed as and when places become available. Further information relating to the student's current school progress may be requested at this time. The interviewing Principal will advise the outcome of the application in writing following the interview. For those being offered a placement at Kristin, formal acceptance is then requested within two weeks. Formal acceptance to secure placement refers to completion of the acceptance documentation and payment of the entrance fee and Kristin Education Bond. Enrolled students are added to the school roll and will receive full information about induction to Kristin, course selection and news publications.

For further information about entry points and enrolments please contact the Registrar of Admissions, Linda Teagle, +64 9 415 9566 Ext 2324 or Email Linda.
