Student Support

At the heart of Kristin's values is a belief that the best education does more than simply instil knowledge in the minds of students. By nurturing the mental, physical, emotional, spiritual and social well-being of our students at Kristin we enable them to grow and develop to their potential, while offering support in a safe and positive environment.

Because the needs of our students differ between the age groups, each school is structured in a way to best support the needs of its students. In the Middle School this structure is evident in the Senior Leadership team where the three Assistant Principals oversee Teaching and Learning, Pastoral Care and Administration and Communications.

Deans

Five Deans support our students in the Middle School. Students in Year 7 are under the care of Mrs Deborah Plummer and transition to their House Dean during Term 4 for the rest of their time in the Middle School. These skilled and experienced teachers oversee the well-being of students in their care and are a point of contact for parents. As students progress through the Middle School, their House Dean remains with them, providing stability, familiarity and consistency throughout their four years in the school.

In Year 10 all students will meet with their Senior School Dean in preparation for entering into Year 11. This handover helps students with the transition to the Senior School and their subject choices.

Houses

Four Houses encompass all students and teachers at Kristin and form a significant part of the Kristin culture. The House spirit is most evident at school events such as Athletics, Swimming Sports and House Music.

Apollo – Blue
Jupiter – Red
Mariner – Green
Saturn – Yellow

From the point of enrolment, students remain in the same house throughout their time at the school. Where possible students are enrolled in the same House as their siblings/parents when a family history exists.
