Kristin Wellness Centre

Prioritising Wellness

Kristin's Wellness Centre is home to our Well-Being directorate, which encompasses health, counselling, chaplaincy and attendance. The team works in collaboration with students, staff and parents to enhance well-being at Kristin. We aim to create and maintain an environment where individuals can flourish and achieve their full potential.

At Kristin we pride ourselves on offering a custom designed Wellness Centre, a safe and welcoming environment where the Kristin community can access a full spectrum of holistic support under one roof.

Relevant guidance policies are available from the Wellness Centre.

School Counselling

Our counselling team understands the challenges that students can face in a dynamic and fast-paced school environment and are well equipped for helping students to manage themselves as they progress through the year levels. The counselling services offered at the Wellness Centre provide a supportive environment for students to talk about problems, build skills, make changes and bounce back from hard times. A new initiative, Text 4 Support offers students an alternative to directly visiting the Wellness Centre. Our counselling team also offer information, online podcasts and courses for parents wanting to connect positively with their children.

School Nurse

With a modern and well-equipped clinic in the Wellness Centre, our School Nurse provides health care to students who are unwell, injured or have a chronic health condition. Waitemata District Health Board preventative initiatives such as immunisation, hearing and vision testing and dental therapy are coordinated by the School Nurse. Families seeking advice on how to maximise student health are welcome to contact the School Nurse.

Chaplaincy

Kristin's chaplaincy team provides a safe and positive environment for students to explore spirituality in a creative, relevant and respectful way. Students are encouraged to reflect on values and ideals they hold, their sense of self, meaning and purpose in their lives and their connectedness with other people and God. Our skilled and compassionate chaplaincy team also offers a listening ear in moments of conflict, confusion, questioning and grief. Our chaplaincy team is committed to supporting all students regardless of their backgrounds or beliefs.
