Laptop Programme
A special feature of the Middle School is our laptop programme requiring laptops to be used across all subject areas.
Year 7
All Year 7 students are required to have a personal laptop which is leased through Kristin ICTS. Basic operating procedures are taught in unison with the curriculum to provide students with effective learning skills and to meet the demands of an increasingly computer literate society.
Year 8
All Year 8 students are also required to have a school leased personal laptop. The specifications of these machines are set by the school and enable the students to do video and image editing, word and data processing, web browsing, view DVDs and burn their own CDs. The Year 8 programme further refines the students' computer skills. Students new to Kristin may be required to do a laptop acceleration programme. At the end of Year 8 the students are expected to have developed a high and flexible degree of computer literacy.
Year 9 and 10
Students continue to use laptops in each subject. ICT as a curriculum subject is now an option where students can study multimedia, robotics, graphic design, desktop publishing, web publishing and software development.
