High Performance Sport

Development and High Performance Programmes

Kristin's Development and High Performance programmes utilise a holistic approach to identify, nurture and develop athletes to their full potential, whilst providing opportunities to train and be mentored in an environment of excellence by top quality coaches and mentors.

Football, Hockey and Netball  offer Development and/or High Performance programmes, enabling elite athletes to excel in a controlled and structured programme with other athletes of a similar level.

These programmes provide pathways for the development of athletes from Junior School through to the Senior School. They and focus on:

  • Skill development
  • Nutrition
  • Fitness testing and monitoring
  • Goal setting
  • Sports science
  • Time management

Whilst the programmes are code specific, additional workshops and clinics may be run with guest speakers from various high profile sporting organisations throughout the year.

Criteria for Selection

A limited number of spaces are available in Development and High Performance programmes.
Selection is open to all students who represent Kristin in Football, Hockey or Netball and will be at the discretion of the Head of Code.
Students who wish to be considered for selection must demonstrate the following:

  • The appropriate skill level
  • A positive training ethic and total commitment towards individual and team performance
  • A willingness to learn
  • Respect for coaches, officials, opposition and fellow team members
  • Participation as an active and loyal member of a Kristin sports team

Sporting and Academic Excellence

In addition to the Development and High Performance programmes available at Kristin, we also offer the Sports Plus (Middle School) and Individual Programme for High Achievers (IPHA - Senior School) to help our elite athletes manage school work effectively, without compromising their sporting objectives. These programmes help and encourage our students to succeed on and off the sporting stage.
