Introduction
The journey through Kristin School for any student has to be an enjoyable experience. At the same time it has to be a journey filled with challenge, establishing a love of learning, a time to meet and enjoy peers, and to begin the process of understanding the world in which they live, and their place in it.
The Junior School is a caring, holistic environment where the staff foster a warm and nurturing learning atmosphere in partnership with parents, for children from Kindergarten (4 years) to Year 6 (11 years).
Kristin Vision Statement
To provide our students with superior all-round education to prepare them to be responsible world citizens who think creatively, reason critically, communicate effectively and learn enthusiastically throughout life.
The Mission Statement of the International Baccalaureate Organisation
The International Baccalaureate Organisation aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
To this end the IBO works with schools, governments and international organisations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment.
These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.
Teacher Meetings
A range of reporting procedures are commonly used to communicate information about students to parents, from written reports to the unique Student Led Conference which runs throughout Junior School. Parents can also request to meet with teachers for formal or informal discussions at any time of year. Click here to select your child's teacher and request a time.

After-School Care at Kristin
We have set up a partnership with sKids who provide quality programmes for children outside of school hours. sKids was set up in 1996 in response to the need for structured out-of-school care for Primary school children. sKids has expended into over 50 school sites in the greater Auckland area and is providing a high quality service to our working parents who need to be supported. Recent feedback from parents has been helpful in making changes to programmes in order to provide you with the quality care that we expect for our families.
You can enroll your child/children through the sKids website
Email or call Kristin sKids Programme Manager Shirley Zhou on 09 929 3799 or 021 661 986.
If you require further information please do not hesitate contact the Junior School Office on 415 9566 ext. 2395. We are excited about this new arrangement and know you will be very happy with the service.

Internet Safety
In 2009 Netsafe ran an evening for parents at Kristin. The Netsafe website is an excellent place to start when thinking about Internet safety at home. All students must have completed an Internet Use Contract at the start of the school year before they are able to use the Internet at Kristin. The Internet at Kristin is protected by filtering software that restricts the pages and content that are able to be viewed. The Acceptable Computer Use rules are available in each classroom and in the school Technology Suite. The key points from these rules are: Students may only use the Internet if they are supervised by a teacher. If something appears on the screen that the students are uncomfortable with they must immediately press the home button and tell the teacher in the room.
