Kristin's sports fields are maintained to the highest standard, regularly staying open for use throughout the winter when other fields are closed. Because of the high standard of our playing surfaces, Kristin regularly welcomes National and International teams to train onsite and has recently hosted a NZ Football U20 Women's International match between New Zealand and Australia.
Kristin has a rugby field, three cricket pitches and several football fields situated inside Gate 2. There are a further two football pitches located by the Hockey Turf inside Gate 4, accessed via the Bass Road entrance.
Kristin has two purpose built gymnasiums. The Roy Munn Gym is situated in the Junior School and the ‘Old Gym' is just inside Gate 1. Both are fully equipped for Basketball, Badminton and Volleyball. The Roy Munn Gym can be used for Netball.
Our competition sized Hockey turf is located at the rear of the Junior School (access via Gate 1). Fully equipped with stadium lighting this turf incorporates the latest technology; the surface is the best available and has been built to the International Hockey Federation (FIH) performance standards. The facility includes clubrooms and changing rooms.
Another sporting feature at Kristin is our Rock Climbing wall, which is situated on the back wall of the Roy Munn Gym. The wall is used for Outdoor Education classes and is open to students to climb during lunchtimes.
Golf Driving Range
Kristin's driving range is an all weather facility featuring 10 undercover bays. Home of the Institute of Golf (iGolf), students have the opportunity to take advantage of some of the best golfing minds in the business.
The Kristin Physiotherapy Clinic is offering a special deal for Kristin students that no surcharge will apply for any sporting injuries that are covered by ACC for appointments on Monday's. The clinic, which is operated by FXV, is located onsite at Gate 3. The physiotherapy team has been supporting Kristin School and its community now for 7 years.
Kristin Lodge (Mt Ruapehu)
Kristin School has owned this A-Frame 1970s lodge in Iwikau Village, Mt Ruapehu, since 2003.
Originally a YMCA facility, it was purchased by the school to provide an off-site base for outdoor education and is used all year round for camps, snowsports, field trips and training. Located in the National Park, it has a picturesque bush and mountain outlook. The facility sleeps 32 and is available for hire by Kristin families.
