Fundraising - Be Part of the Dream

Thirty- seven years ago it took a dedicated group of parents just three months to fund and build the very first Kristin classroom. Forty-two students were on the roll and the Kristin dream had begun. We no longer ask our parents to help mow playing fields or build new classrooms on their weekends but we do ask that they continue to help build the dream. We continue to be grateful for the philanthropic support of so many Kristin families, past and present. They have left a legacy of outstanding resources and facilities.

If you would like any information on ways in which you can contribute to our fundraising appeals or make donations to the school, please click here to contact Pamela Peryman, Director of School Relations.

Building Greatness Appeal - Stage Two

In 2007, the Board's signalled a new level of commitment to sport with their decision to approve a fundraising campaign to add an all weather Hockey Turf, upgraded football fields and an Aquatic Centre to the school facilites. The Building Greatness Appeal would involve a capital outlay in excess of $8million over the coming years. Stage One of this two stage Appeal was launched in 2007 and has been completed well ahead of time.

The Aquatic Centre forms Stage Two of the Building Greatness Appeal. This centre will be located to the right of the driveway inside Gate 1 and will link to the existing Gymnasium complex. Click here to read more about the Building Greatness Appeal and ways in which you may become involved.

Performing Arts - Patron of The Dove

The 200 seat Dove Memorial Theatre was completed in 2005, a fundraising campaign raised in excess of $800,000 from parents and friends to complete the project.  Contributions by Founding Patrons raised over half of this amount and the balance was raised from parents who supported the Appeal as Patrons and Seat Sponsors.  Donating $5,000 to become a Patron of The Dove is just one way in which you can help to support the Performing Arts at Kristin, benefits are included.

Forgiveness of Bond

The Bond which all parents pay on acceptance at the school is held in Trust until the student leaves Kristin.  Many parents choose to donate some or all of this Bond back to the school, either at the time of acceptance or at some other stage during their time here.  Bonds can be applied to any of our fundraising campaigns.

Donations through School Accounts

Our term invoices give a regular opportunity for bill payers to make a voluntary donation.  Simply complete the box at the bottom of the invoice and select the area of the school you wish your donation to be applied to.  Receipts will be forwarded once the donation has been processed.

Pledges and Donations

Pledges are a signed indication of intent.  You may complete a pledge form for a particular campaign which indicates your intention to make an donation at an agreed later stage, pledges are often paid in instalments over a period of up to five years.

Chapel Extension and Stained Glass Window Appeals

A great number of our parents donated to the Chapel Extension Appeal and the more recent Stained Glass Window Appeal.  The Chapel is a great place of worship, comfort and refuge for our entire community and donations can be focused on a range of initiatives the Chaplaincy team is involved in.

Wills and Bequests

Each member of the Kristin community forms part of the history of the school, while  a range of Appeals and Campaigns take place throughout the years, a Bequest is a substantial and lasting way of contributing to the future of the school.  A bequest is an instruction within a Will and specifically reserves part of an estate for a particular beneficiary, it can be named or anonymous and can be directed for use in a particular area of the school or left for the school to use at its discretion.  A Bequest does give an opportunity to plan for and make a lasting gift and families interested should feel free to contact Pamela Peryman, Director of School Relations to discuss in more detail.

Tax Deductibility and Charitable Trust Status

Changes to the taxation laws in 2008  mean that donations are fully tax deductible.  You may wish to seek independent taxation advice to ensure you are taking full advantage of these changes.  All donations will be receipted.  Kristin School is a Charitable Trust.

For all enquiries please contact our Director of School Relations.
